Here’s a great bit of fan footage from what was Morrissey and the bands final show of 1999, before we were to head into the new millennium.
Respect to the person who managed to sneak in a video camera past security and capture this magical evenings performance. (No easy task - there were no video phones back in those days).
As I remember, this was the second of the two nights we played there and for some reason Morrissey completely rearranged the set, and chose this particular song to open with. Something we’d never done before and never did again either. We’d been on the road for months by this point though so relished the challenge.
Watching this back I can see and hear how confident we all are. I always loved playing this song and I love this version. So, enjoy the old school style filming which captures the vibe from the audience beautifully.
